Mr. Leichter is basically a self taught professional. In 1983, he graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School located in Prairie Village, Kansas. He then received 27 credit hours from Johnson County Community College located in Overland Park, Kansas. He then went on to learn the trade by working, and became educated by experience in the industry.

James is an award winning martial artist; with several state championships and a second place showing in the 2004 nationals. He holds a black belt in Karate.
